| Dr. Athira Jathavedan is working as assistant professor in this department from January 2021. She has been working here as contract teacher since 2013. She started her career as FIP Substitute in the department of Sanskrit General, Maharaja’s College, Eranakulam in 2010. She did her B.A. and M.A. from Maharaja’s College , Erankulam, B.Ed. from University of Calicut and M.Phil from University of Kerala. Her PhD Thesis entitled “Theories of Meaning- A Study Based on Indian Systems of Knowledge” was based on works of renowned Sanskrit scholar and linguist Dr. K. Kunjunni Raja. She completed her Ph.D in the year 2014 from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady under the guidance of Dr. P.C. Muraleemadhavan. She had a diploma in Kathakali Vesham from FACT fine arts wing and she is a trained classical dancer. She has published research articles and has published two books namely ‘Introduction to Indian Theories of Meaning’ and ‘Introduction to Modern Theories of Meaning’. She had participated and presented papers in national and international seminars and workshops including 15th World Sanskrit Conference held at New Delhi, 2012 and 17th World Sanskrit Conference held at Vancouver, Canada 2018. |
