Summary
Professor Nisha Venugopal has taken her Doctorate under the guideship of the renowned scholar, creative writer and poet, Dr.Ayyappa Paniker, Professor and Head, Department of English, University of Kerala. Her thesis was on Robert Lowell, the famous confessional poet and anti-war activist. In her thesis she has argued that he is more of a pacifist and existentialist than a confessionalist. She is interested in Cultural and Media Studies, Literary Theory and Environmental Studies. She believes that theory and practice should be integrated in the curriculum so that students would be able to respond to issues and take a stand after undergoing post-graduation from here. The aim of the faculty is to equip the students to face life and reality head on.She has published her articles in scholarly journals like LittCrit,Samyukta, Sahitya Academi journal and so on.
