Three Day National Seminar on 'Dance Education: Significance & Challenges'
Department of Mohiniyattam organized a three-day National Seminar on "Dance Education- Significance and challenges" from 12h to 14th of January 2026. The seminar was inaugurated by Hon. Vice-chancellor Dr.K.K.Geethakumari, chaired by Dr. Abu K.M,Teacher in Charge, Department of Mohiniyattam. There were 9 technical sessions.

The technical sessions were handled by 9 experts in different areas namely Prof.B. Ananthakrishnan (Keynote address), Lecture performance by Lekha Thankachi (Rtd.Professor SST college of Music, TVM), Dr.Methil Devika (Mohiniyattam exponent), Dr.P.RamaDevi (Kuchipudi exponent), Madhu.A.K (Koodiyattam exponent), Paper presentations were handled by Madhavan Namboothiri.C.P (Rtd.Supporting artist, RLV College of music), Thulasikumar.S (HOD, Dept of Kathakali, Kerala Kalamandalam). These days are coloured with stage performance of Smt. Usha Nangiar (Koodiyatam exponent), Dr.Fr. Saju George and team from Culcutta, Kum. Avani Santhosh, Mohiniyattam performer from Bangalore and the alumni of Department of Mohiniyattam. Papers were presented by research scholars from different Universities. The seminar was concluded on 14th January at 5.00pm by Velidictory function.
