In connection with World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September 2025), the Department of Psychology, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, organized a series of academic and awareness-oriented programmes under the theme “Creating Hope Through Action”. As part of the observance, an academic seminar was conducted, led by Dr. Jitha G, Specialist in Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, KIMSHEALTH, Trivandrum. The seminar focused on understanding suicide prevention from a clinical, social, and community-based perspective, emphasizing the importance of timely intervention and collective responsibility. The session was held at the Seminar Hall, Language Block, from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM. To extend awareness beyond the classroom, a street drama was performed on 10 September 2025 near the Milma Parlour, and a movie screening was organized on 11 September 2025 at Room No. 252, Academic Block-2. These activities aimed to promote mental health awareness and foster empathy, hope, and proactive action among students and the wider campus community.
