Dileesh Pothan is an Indian film actor and director who works in Malayalam cinema. He was born in Omalloor of Manjoor panchayat-village in northern Kottayam district, Kerala. He completed his schooling at Emmanuel's High School, Kothanalloor, pursued pre-degree from Kuriakose Elias College, Mannanam, and earned a BSc degree from St. Philomena's College, Mysore. Following his passion for drama and cinema, he completed an MA in Theatre Arts from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, and an MPhil from Mahatma Gandhi University. He made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), which won the National Film Award for Best Malayalam Film.
