The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) is a Sanskrit university in India established in 1993 in Kalady, Kochi, Kerala. The foundation stone for the university was laid by Bharathi Tirtha Mahaswamiji of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham. SSUS provides education in Sanskrit, other Indian and Foreign languages, Social science and fine arts. It is accredited A+ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).The university has seven regional campuses across Kerala.
The Panmana Regional Campus of Sree Sankaracharya University is located in Panmana, in Kollam district.This campus is situated near the Panmana Ashram, the final resting place of Chattampi Swamikal, one of the leaders of Kerala’s social renaissance.The centre offers undergraduate programmes in Sanskrit Vedanta and Malayalam, postgraduate programmes in Sanskrit Vedanta, Malayalam, and Hindi, as well as a diploma in Hindi.

The Department of Hindi offers credit system in M.A course. The duration of the course is 4 semesters with 64 credits. There will be 16 courses and each course carrying 4 credits. Out of 16 courses 11 courses are core papers, one seminar course and 4 are electives. The system of evaluation will be a combination of Internal and external examination. 50% of the credits will be for internal evaluation. Evaluation will be based on 9 point grading system. There will be three components for internal assessment for each course as follows: a. Seminar Presentation b. Assignments c. Mid Semester Examination Other things regarding the valuation will be as per the Regulation for the M.A. Programmes under Credit and Semester System Effective from 2019 admission onwards
